Yacht Description

SALTY GIRL yacht is a 40.00 ft long sailboat catamaran and spends the summer and winter season in the British Virgin Islands. It was built by Leopard in 2006. A refit was done in 2017-2018. The yacht layout features 3 cabins and accommodates 6 guests. The cabin arrangement is following: 3 queen cabins.

The sailboat features 2 Volvo 40 horse each engines with less than 900 hours. 7.5 KW Generator new 2018 Fresh water flush electric toilets engines and a generator.

Accommodation

Tresa and Philip focus on guest comfort through several new upgrades and classic Leopard design.

Numerous upgrades through a recent refit have been completed; air conditioning, 40" TV with 1000+ movies, AT&T Wi-Fi (when available), digital R/O water maker, generator, and electric heads. Guests are welcomed to Bluetooth into the new Fusion stereo system which includes 4 interior and 4 exterior speakers. Cabins are equipped with A/C outlets for guest convenience with 12 USB charger ports in the salon/cockpit/cabin. Cruising speed of 6 knots is achieved through sail or 8 knots with 2 new Volvo 40 horse engines.

3 comfortable berths have been reserved for guests. Air conditioning, reading lights, robust fans, A/C outlets, hanging lockers, compartment stowage areas, shelving, and mirrors are provided in each sleeping area. The bow staterooms include an additional twin berth area for sleeping or luggage storage.

2 dry heads, each with separate enclosed shower area, are clean and odor free with plenty of hot water supplied by the water maker and generator. Electric toilets are fresh water flush.

Outside living space flows easily between the cockpit and the bow. Guests have even elected to sleep on the inviting trampoline after star gazing!

Salty Girl features the ability to "Power Snorkel". With 16 sets of snorkel gear to fit every size, a Yamaha Sea Scooter, Subwing, and our new Snuba system by Brownie Hookah, every level of adventure can be happy. Play on the beach with fun games, packaged and ready to go, along with your walkie-talkie for easy return home to Salty Girl when you are ready. You could explore the island coast in a kayak or SUP (stand-up paddle-board).

Perhaps you would like to try your luck with our 3 deep sea fishing rods and tackle. Wind down the evening with a card game or board game in the cockpit. Whatever you do, we hope you rediscover the child within!

Captain Philip
Although not unheard of, I hold 2 Licenses; earning not only a US Coast Guard Captains license, but also a Commercial Pilot’s, as well. Sailing and flying are in many regards similar. Passenger safety, comfort, and destinations are the focus.

I enlisted in the United States Army after obtaining my Eagle Scout status at age 17. The GI Bill enabled me to pursue my undergraduate degree in Aviation Flight and Management from Southern Illinois University. Both Tresa and I hold Masters Degrees. My career path did not take me flying, however, but to logistics with a wholesale distribution business. It was a three year plan to leave our life on the Canadian boarder in NYS, and transition to the Caribbean. Truly one of the best decisions of our lives!

The $100,000 refit on Salty Girl was mostly done by Tresa and I. If you would like to know more about boat systems on the ocean, just ask, as I will enjoy discussing them with you. The helm station can comfortably sit 3 people, so don't hesitate to come try your hand at the wheel. Interested in listening to music? You can choose the venue from my pre-made playlists or Bluetooth from your own devise. Our 9 speaker Fusion Stereo sounds terrific turned up loud! Please tell us if you are camera shy. I enjoy taking and sharing pics of your party!

Captain Tresa
I am excited to share my love of the Virgin Islands with you aboard Salty Girl. As a career New York State public education teacher, I know how important family vacations and couples’ retreats are. Let Salty Girl lead you on the perfect escape. Our goal is for you to feel the boat as your private resort from which to reconnect and explore nature. Options include snorkeling, snuba, fishing, kayaking, hiking, binoculars from the boat, or just soaking in the sun. However you choose to customize your day, know that your safety, as well as private time, will be foremost.

Meal time on Salty Girl is special. As the primary cook, I make sure every dish is home-made with an extra dose of love. Years of running an organic farm, feeding our children, and enjoying good food all lead me to the dishes prepared specifically for you and your preferences. Additionally, tasty recipes, from my classes with the Culinary Institute of America non-degree program, are served with local Caribbean favorites. My focus is on light healthy eating to fuel your adventures. I hope you enjoy my boat-grown microgreens! I am honored to have professional chefs and guests request recipes, so don't hesitate to ask!

Philip and I are very proud of the 4 adult children and one son-in-law we share. No grand kids yet!

It was a three year plan to leave our life on the Canadian boarder in NYS, and transition to the Caribbean. While of "Spring break" trip was very delayed it was well worth the wait. While the waters and islands are lovely, the true beauty exists under water. Tresa's knowledge of where the best snokeling is was on on. I never imagined we would see sharks, squid, feeding turtles, stingrays, starfish and so much more. The kids loved all the toys, SUP, kayaking, snunba, and the subwing. The boat is beautiful and very clean. Plus, it has everything you could need to have a great time snorkeling, kayak, paddle boards, and more). Both Philip and Tresa are extremely knowledgeable of the islands and created our custom itinerary for us based on our preferences/had tons of interesting information to share. We were brought to remote areas that are hard to access via car and had the best time snorkeling with sea turtles, hiking to beautiful vistas and more.<br /> <br /> The food we had was delicious (we had fresh homemade pasta and bread for dinner!) and Tresa went above and beyond to accommodate for my vegetarian needs during our stay. Both Philip and Tresa were kind, caring, and enjoyable to be around. From the initial talks to the very first step aboard this trip. Our first island hopping trip was utter perfection! The two of us for this cruise, and there is so much room four more could have been with us easily. The boat is Spotlessly clean and very experienced crew, safety is always first. We visited 5 bays and snorkeling is perfect, the water is like glass. Each night the back water lights were light and the fish swarmed to the boat. Equipment was plenty and in excellent condition. This crew knows all the good places to visit and see turtles.<br /> Meals are prepped on the boat and made from scratch. No one, young or old will ever be hungry on this cruise. Every meal is freshly made each day. The best meal is the Linguine and white sauce is haven. She makes the noodles and sauce on board that day. Every meal is wonderful and a heavenly experience.<br /> This crew can take you to the right bay to find that special gift for the Family members and mother in law. Maybe visit the floating bar with music.<br /> We could not ask for a kinder host and thoughtful crew (Army Family) of two. Everything is perfect and thought out. Anything we decided we wanted to do was arranged by our captains and we enjoyed every bit of our trip. I had never been on a cruising cat and was very happy with the introduction provided by Captain Phillip.
